Ciao my lovely Bellissima TRONKSTERS! I miss you so much! I have been having serious emotions lately about Italia... I heard Ave Maria on the radio the other day and started to cry. Sigh...
Thank you Miss Rosie for starting this lovely blog! I have been thinking about you guys often as I start to readjust to life here. I think a lot about what Italy has taught me, and how I can incorporate those things into my life here. It is sometimes difficult to try to explain to other the experience I had, as I'm sure it is for the two of you. I am so glad that we have each other to chat with, so that we can all keep inspiring each other. Speaking of, I have a book recommendation.
BOOK:
I have a great book to recommend, per our discussion about the function of this blog. It is called Gomorrah, by Roberto Saviano. It is about the mafia in Italy, and the level in which they function. It was recommended to me by the owners of the last farm I was at who were very politically aware and engaged. The book Gamorrah was made into a movie directed by Martin Scorcese, and was nominated for an Academy Award. The book and movie are pretty brutal, but I think they give a deeper understanding of the why italy functions the way it does. This is my recommendation of the quarter!
